PROCESS

1) Dreaming

I like to start with a phone call, when possible, to get to know you and your travel style better in order for me to make the best recommendations! I will ask you questions about past trips you’ve enjoyed, what type of experience you are looking to enjoy this time, and what would make this trip amazing for you.

The more details you share with me about what is important to you and your past experiences, the better I can tailor your travel to suit your needs! Luxury can mean different things to different people- for some, it is a posh 5* resort and for others, it is a private, customized tour to learn an area in depth.

2) Planning

I will consider several different options that I think will be best based on our “dreaming” session before, gathering info on pros/cons and pricing to present you, and we can narrow down from there. In this stage, if you find information online that you would like for me to vet, please share! My process is very collaborative and a great dialogue helps to ensure that you are satisfied with your trip.

3) Booking

Once we have decided on the perfect resorts, experiences, or cruise for you, I will begin the booking process. I will advise you up front of deposits due, deadlines, cancellation policies, etc. Where possible, I will check several different sources in order to secure the best value for you. Please note that prices and availability are always subject to change, and quotes may change until a deposit is placed.

Finally, I HIGHLY recommend trip insurance to protect your investment! No one ever anticipates an illness, family emergency, work, or even airline delays to interrupt their trip. But when they do, my clients always value having trip insurance! Please ask me about policy differences, pricing, and the best ones to suit your needs.

4) Experiencing

We have dreamed, planned, booked, and now it is time for you to enjoy your amazing trip! I always VIP my clients pre-arrival by reconfirming reservations, special occasions, and additional perks just before you depart. Thanks to my preferred relationships in the industry, my clients frequently enjoy amenities such as free breakfast, resort credits, and upgrades when available.

When possible, I will put you in touch with a local contact who can typically accommodate itinerary changes, questions, emergencies, etc. I will check in with you once you have arrived to make sure that everything is perfect!

5) Sharing

Finally, once you return home from your trip, I will check in with you again. Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated! My guides and travel suppliers especially love hearing how well they performed for you.

And if you loved your trip and working with me, I would greatly appreciate if you SHARE your experience with your friends, co-workers, and family! A referral is the greatest compliment I can get.

Golden hour at @paraderohotels in Todos Santos, Me Golden hour at @paraderohotels in Todos Santos, Mexico✨

Less than one month old, this 39 room eco-chic hotel is set right in the middle of a farm- between the Sierra de la Laguna mountains and the oasis- and just a few minutes by car to the beach🏖 An adults-only adventure playground, rates include breakfast + activities like surfing, hiking, mountain biking & a taco tour🧡

The heartbeat of the hotel is the living room, an open-air space with low cushions & a cozy fire by which to regale tales from the day.. the open air kitchen beckons with barstools scattered around.. the long pool is accentuated with cozy beanbags and overlooks the 200 year-old local cardon cacti☀️🌵

In a word, I am already in love with this place, in a quieter part of Baja, just an hour north from bustling Cabo. Questions about @paraderohotels, please let me know!! So excited to begin booking this hideaway for our clients🥰 #hauteholidaystravel #paraderohotel #todossantos #bajacaliforniasur #mexico #thejajoftravel

WHAT A WEEK❄️❄️❄️ I’m grateful to ha WHAT A WEEK❄️❄️❄️ I’m grateful to have power back after several days mostly without. We are now, though, boiling water due to multiple water main breaks and thousands of residential pipe breaks, but at least we have water. This weekend temps rise above freezing and more damage may be revealed😕🙏🏼

So many are still suffering- no power, no water, broken pipes, etc. It’s been a trying week for Texans but we strong & resilient.. thank you all for the outpouring of love & well wishes!❤️

A strange thing happened in my house this week. Tuesday evening in our dark & cold home, we huddled around the fireplace to play Apples to Apples (a funny card game)➡️ Without distractions, we laughed until our sides hurt before going to bed.

The next night, we thankfully had power back, but were scattered across the house, once again sucked back into normalcy- TVs on, WiFi in use, running around in our own worlds. Exasperated, my 10 yo daughter exclaimed “can we just turn all the lights off and play cards in front of the fire again?!”

In that moment, I felt so grateful for what being mostly powerless for a few days gave us. A chance to slow down, reset.. sleep four across in a king bed for warmth🤣 I love to find silver linings, and while I know we aren’t completely out of the woods yet, this was ours.

It brought me back to some of my favorite off-the-grid travel memories like our beautiful US National Parks, remote lodges in Costa Rica, life-changing African safaris. A good reminder to slow down and disconnect to reconnect in this busy world😌

Sorry not my usual post but have a lot on my heart this week, if you’ve read this far! Thankfully Haute Holidays is back in biz- happily continuing work on upcoming client getaways☀️ Sending a huge hug & prayer for everyone still in need that we get through this as quickly & safely as possible❤️ #hauteholidaystravel
