Last month, the Haute Holidays Travel team had the opportunity to visit Paris and all it has to offer in the holiday season. And let me tell you, the City of Lights did not disappoint!
Our team went with the intention to learn more about all the best hotels in the city and gain some additional knowledge on places to go, places to eat and places to shop. Get ready for an influx of information…it’ll make you want to plan a trip or two! And the best part is that if you decide to stay at any of these properties, we can provide you with additional amenities you can’t get on your own, which are generally perks such as:
- Complimentary daily breakfast
- Resort credit
- Welcome amenity
- Upgrade if available upon arrival
- (And more depending on the property!)

Esprit Saint Germain – We were able to stay here for two nights in a suite and it was a wonderful way to begin our visit! The moment you walk in the hotel, you feel at home. There are two wonderfully cozy lounge areas and one of them even has a fireplace…perfect to curl up and read the paper next to. Each suite has a separate sitting area that you can close off from the bedroom and two separate bathrooms! Esprit Saint Germain is wonderfully located and has quick access to the metro and other popular spots like Les Deux Magots.
Hotel D’Aubusson – This gem of a hotel in the 6th arrondissement allows its guests to immediately feel at peace the moment they walk through the doors. The sitting area at Hotel D’Aubusson is what dreams are made of. The original wood beams on the ceiling, the roaring fire place, the individualized sitting areas…all of it will make you want to call this place home. Each of its 49 rooms were re-done in 2015 and they went over and above in the finishing touches. Inside the hotel is Cafe Laurent, an amazing jazz piano bar that brings in locals and visitors alike with their live music on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Relais Christine – When you enter through the giant wooden doors into the courtyard of the Relais Christine, you immediately feel like you have stepped into another world. The attention to detail is something you will notice every step of the way. The bookshelf styling in the sitting areas, the velvet wallpaper in the rooms, the original stonework in the spa, and the fact that all the rooms still use real keys make you think you are a treasured guest in someone’s home…not just in a hotel. Their staff prides themselves on how they treat each guest and it doesn’t go unnoticed. If you are looking for a romantic getaway for two or a family vacation, they have room configurations that will work for everyone. And for a quick insider tip, have our team request room 11 for you for your next stay. This Deluxe Room is gorgeous and it has it’s own terrace and entrance to the garden. Imagine enjoying a bottle of wine on your own private Parisian patio while staring out into a garden of blooming flowers. If that’s not what dreams are made of, then I don’t know what is.
Le Saint – Hotel le Saint is a hidden gem of intimacy that has found the perfect way to combine luxury and comfort into one experience. While this is a newer hotel in the city, the ambiance and atmosphere of the hotel make you feel like this is a place people have been seeking out for decades. Each of the 54 rooms at Hotel le Saint is unique and has been hand-styled with it’s own furniture so no matter how many times you come, each stay will feel new! And as a special touch, upon your arrival at the hotel, you will get to select a flower arrangement to keep in your room during your entire stay. What could make you feel more at home than fresh flowers?! Le Saint offers 10 junior suites, 5 prestige suites and 39 superior rooms and many of the rooms offer connecting options, making this a great hotel choice for families.
Hotel Pont Royal – Have you ever wanted to live like one of the great writers and artists of the nineteenth century? Plan your next stay at Hotel Pont Royal and you can do just that! F. Scott Fitzgerald and Hemingway were some of the biggest American names to first put this hotel on the map and for good reason. Centered in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, you have access to art galleries, home decor shops, and restaurants all within minutes. This hotel has kept a very classic Parisian style with rich colors and fabrics in every room. The showstopper at Hotel Pont Royal is the panoramic suite. Here, you can relax with a glass of wine as you look out to the Eiffel Tower, Sacré Coeur and the Louvre from your own private terrace. When you book this room through us, you will not be disappointed.

Beginning in the exquisite lobby with their signature scent (fresh grass, which conjures images of the lush Tuileries Gardens across the street), you are welcomed into a world of refined beauty. Yes, seriously!
Ritz Paris was closed for four years doing major renovations and reopened in early 2016. They used their renovations to increase the size of all 142 rooms and upgrade all the technology in the hotel while keeping it hidden from guests to preserve the idea of Parisian elegance. Their Chanel Spa is the only one in the world and gets some of the famous Chanel products even before other Chanel shops! Even the exterior of the hotel is worth mentioning; their hotel garden is the largest one in Paris and is nestled between their two hotel wings. If you are looking to experience a true piece of French history, book a room at the Ritz Paris through us for your next getaway!
Hotel de Crillon – This hotel, part of the Rosewood Hotel collection, lives up to its reputation. Hotel de Crillon has done a remarkable job of conserving the elegance and luxury of traditional French design while adding a contemporary and updated spin. Here, you won’t find the traditional large lobby and entry area. Instead, you will find small rooms and nooks where the staff will personally greet you, help you check-in and assist with anything else you may need. They have found that this creates an intimacy and coziness that large lobbies just don’t provide…and I must say, I agree! I loved that around every corner there was something new and beautiful to discover; from the art pieces to the furniture selection, it really was a treat for the senses. While you are staying here, you must enjoy a meal at L’Ecrin. Seating only 14 people, the food here is masterfully done and the atmosphere is incredibly intimate.
Each of the 124 rooms are very spacious and well-appointed with decor. The colors, mostly grays and whites, are a nod to French history and it lends itself to an incredibly calming feel. Located on the seventh floor of the hotel, the artist loft rooms are exceptional. Complete with complimentary handcrafted cocktail mixes, a beautiful sitting area and a bathroom that boasts natural beauty, these rooms are sure to take your breath away.
La Réserve Hotel and Spa – La Réserve seeks to take its clients into a world of simplified luxury. There’s no stuffiness and no pretentiousness…there is just refined elegance. Of it 40 rooms, 26 of them are suites. Each of their two room categories, premier and prestige, are extremely spacious and beautifully decorated with a wide array of textiles and fabrics. The history of Parisian elegance has been maintained in the common areas with antique furniture, original parquet flooring and a traditional decor style. The rooms have more of a contemporary feel that puts you at ease immediately. The staff at La Réserve seek to remain discreet while making sure that your every need is met. This hotel would be perfect for you next trip to Paris if you are looking for the feel of Parisian elegance with a touch of modern design.
Four Seasons Paris – The first hotel in Europe to offer five Michelin stars across three restaurants is not the only reason this hotel needs to be on your must-visit list. The Four Seasons brand is known for it’s appreciation of the finer things and the exceptional staff and this hotel does not disappoint. As one of the largest hotels in Paris with 244 rooms, they still treat each guest as if they are royalty. Every room category is very spacious and falls into one of their three colors schemes: blue, yellow and green. Every where you look, you will find a stunning arrangement of flowers designed by Jeff Leathem. Jeff designs a new floral design theme every three weeks and has over 12,000 stems delivered for each new design. It is truly a feast for the eyes.
Hôtel Plaza Athénée – We concluded our stay in Paris at this fabulous hotel and we couldn’t have picked a better way to end our time. Also part of the Dorchester collection, Plaza Athénée is located in the heart of the fashion and shopping district. If you happen to stay here during Paris Fashion Week, you never know who you might run into at the bar or on your way through the lobby. From the outstanding restaurants, the outdoor courtyard, the lobby design and the rooms, there is no detail that Plaza Athénée has overlooked. Each of the 208 rooms have been decorated by designers who were seeking to create a “home”, not a hotel. All the rooms boast beautiful designs in either pink, red, purple or yellow and the Eiffel suites offer unparalleled views of the Eiffel Tower. There is even a room where you can take a relaxing bubble bath while you watch the lights of the Eiffel Tower. I mean, how many of you can say that you’ve done that?!
Alain Ducasse au Plaza Athénée restaurant has been ranked one of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants and it’s not hard to see why. The decor simply takes your breath away when you walk in and the food sends your tastebuds on journey they will not soon forget.
